JAKARTA, July 30, 2026 – The Police Science College (STIK-PTIK), in collaboration with the Meira Visi Persada Foundation, successfully hosted The Second Annual International Conference on Police Studies (AICoPS) 2026 virtually via Zoom Meeting. Under the theme “Professional Policing in the Age of Global Risks and Digital Threats,” the international conference served as a global academic platform, bringing together researchers, academics, law enforcement professionals, practitioners, students, and policymakers to explore the future of policing amid evolving global risks and rapid technological transformation.
AICoPS 2026 received an enthusiastic response from the international academic community, attracting 1,033 participants from nine countries: Indonesia, Poland, India, Kenya, Pakistan, Italy, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Kyrgyzstan. The diverse international participation reflects the growing importance of cross-border collaboration in advancing police studies, public security, legal development, and digital transformation.
An International Forum Addressing the Future of Modern Policing
The conference was officially opened by Police Inspector General Dr. Eko Rudi Sudarto, S.I.K., M.Si., Head of the Police Science College (STIK-PTIK), who emphasized that police education, scientific research, and international collaboration are fundamental pillars in developing a professional, adaptive, and future-ready policing institution capable of responding to increasingly complex global security challenges.
In her welcoming remarks, Dr. (c) Meida Rachmawati, S.E., M.M., M.H., Ph.D., representing the Meira Visi Persada Foundation, highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration among academics, researchers, law enforcement agencies, and policymakers to generate research-driven innovations and evidence-based policy recommendations that contribute to the continuous development of policing systems.
Bringing Global Perspectives from International Experts
AICoPS 2026 featured keynote and plenary speakers from Indonesia, Australia, Brazil, Italy, Poland, India, and the Philippines. Their presentations covered a wide range of strategic issues, including police professionalism, institutional integrity, transnational crime, cybersecurity, cybercrime investigation, Artificial Intelligence (AI) regulation, and strengthening public trust in law enforcement institutions.
Throughout the conference, discussions underscored the need for multidisciplinary approaches and international cooperation in addressing today’s rapidly evolving security landscape. The exchange of ideas and experiences among distinguished speakers provided valuable insights into contemporary policing challenges faced across different regions of the world.
Parallel Sessions Foster Academic Exchange
In addition to the main sessions, AICoPS 2026 featured seven thematic parallel panels, where researchers presented peer-reviewed studies covering criminal justice reform, smart policing, humanistic policing, cybersecurity, cyber law enforcement, public policy, personal data protection, and digital criminology.
These parallel sessions created opportunities for in-depth academic discussion and constructive exchanges between presenters, moderators, and participants, enriching scholarly dialogue while promoting interdisciplinary approaches to addressing the challenges of modern policing.
Recognizing Academic Excellence
To acknowledge outstanding scholarly contributions, the organizing committee presented the Best Paper Award to Uktufiya Azmani and M. Arsha, while Awalia Nugrahaini received the Best Presenter Award. In addition, Panel Excellent Presenter Awards were presented to outstanding presenters from each parallel panel.
